Created by comedian, New York Foundation of the Arts CAC grantee and breast cancer disruptor Suzette Simon, #StrongBlackBoobs exists to create comedic digital, social media, and broadcast initiatives that inspire, increase breast health awareness, and heighten self-esteem among breast cancer patients of color.

#StrongBlackBoobs is here to present another side to the war on breast cancer inequities for WOC. Comedy is Suzette’s weapon and humor is her ammunition. Suzette Simon is your friendly neighborhood breast cancer disruptor who proudly wears the badge of #BlackBreastFriend! Breast cancer is SCARY, but for WOC, the stats are SCARIER as we die the most. More alarming - breast health isn't translating into tangible actions by WOC. As an activist/artist, she is aim to present a wake-up call to WOC.

Suzette is becoming infamous for posting funny musings - primarily on social media - on her cancer journey along with other fun stuff to help others learn about the disease and the risks for Black women.

- There are others out there to support you
- Breast cancer is among the most researched and funded diseases. Support organizations that are TRULY transparent on how they serve WOC and boob equality. How did we get here?
- Your Black boobs are loved. Love your boobs and your boobs will love you back.

KNOW HOW TO:
- Check your breasts, breastplate and lymph nodes in your neck and underarm every first of the month for ANY changes, not just lumps
- Advocate for your health at ANY age - young or mature adult

Circle of Care: Start by gently circling your chest area, just as you would your own breasts during a self-exam. Use your fingertips to feel for any unusual lumps or changes in texture.
Node-Navigating Ninjas: Feel around your underarm area to check for any swollen lymph nodes. These are like the body's defenders, so take note of any unusual bumps.
A Gentle Squeeze: Give your boobs a gentle squeeze. Feel for any discharge or changes in texture. Report any unusual findings to your healthcare provider.
Smooth as Silk: Run your fingers gently over your breast skin. Pay attention to any puckering, dimpling, or changes in the skin's texture.
Areola Investigator: Look for any changes in direction, color, or discharge. Be vigilant.
Mirror Magic: Check your breasts in the mirror for any visible changes in size, shape, or color
Posture Matters: Repeat the examination while lying down. This helps spread out the breast tissue and makes it easier to detect any anomalies.
Breast Elevation: Strike a pose, superstar! Raise your arms above your head and give your breasts the spotlight they deserve. This diva-like move might just reveal any subtle changes or surprises in the breast showbiz!
